We know you want to sleep in on your Maui vacation, and that’s perfect, because once you are ready to get on the water, we have an afternoon snorkel cruise to excite you! The Paragon II will sail you and your family from Maalaea Harbor to the magnificent Coral Gardens snorkel site. This beautiful coral reef is located just off the west coast of Maui and shadowed by the gorgeous Kahalawai Mountains.
Before you even get in the water the trip is awesome, because you get to check out the 47 foot sailing catamaran that you’re riding while you chat with the friendly captain and crew. You’ll enjoy tasty snacks, soda, beer and wine (alcohol after snorkeling, because we care about you), as well as comfortable seating and onboard restrooms. Plus, this afternoon snorkel cruise keeps to a limit of 38 passengers, so you have plenty of room both on and off the boat.
The winds on Maui pick up throughout the day, and that natural trend is just perfect for your three hour trip. You check in at Maalaea Harbor at 1pm and depart at 1:30, and the sails of the Paragon II get to harness Maui’s winds of paradise. At times, you’ll be traveling faster than 23 miles per hour on the surface of the sea! Whee! And once you moor at Coral Gardens and enter the water, life becomes even more spectacular.
Saddleback wrasses, parrotfish, moorish idols, butterflyfish, humuhumunukunukuapua’a, and damselfish are cruising just below the surface, and you’ll get to watch them live in their coral habitat! Awesome! Even if this is your first time snorkeling, the crew of the Paragon II will make sure you’re very comfortable and taken care of. They provide all the equipment and instruction you’ll need, including flotation aids and optical masks.
Once you have had your fill of the underwater life at Coral Gardens, you’ll climb back aboard and be sailing again, returning to Maalaea Harbor in the late afternoon.
