Description

Kanaio Coast Snorkeling is awesome with Blue Water Rafting

For a snorkel excursion that will take you to places other tours won’t, go with Blue Water Rafting! They have an exciting Kanaio Coast Snorkeling Tour that will take you to see the uninhabited south coast of Maui. You’ll also enjoy La Perouse Bay and Makena snorkeling, all in 4 action packed, sea salted hours!

Blue Water Rafting has really got Maui sightseeing and snorkeling down pat! They leave from the convenient Kihei Boat Ramp at Kamaole Beach Park III in the morning. Their quick, inflatable, rigid hull, and stable rafts are powered by smoke-free motors, and they are extremely fun to ride. The raft excursion is limited to 24 passengers, and about 60% the craft is shaded. Beverages are provided, but alcohol is not allowed.

Your first visit is to the Kanaio Coast, on the south side of Maui past the big hotels. This area is incredible, made up of beautiful lava formations that hardened after eruptions into naturally artistic shapes. This is a great time to take some one-of-a-kind photos. After working up some hunger while sightseeing, you’ll love your continental breakfast of tropical fruits, muffins, water, and juice while you motor ahead to the next amazing spot—La Perouse Bay! This is where you’ll first get in the water to snorkel.

Spinner dolphins often frequent La Perouse Bay, and dolphins have approached snorkelers. Lucky visitors describe these unique encounters as one of the most spiritual experiences they’ve had to date. And after the awesome snorkeling at La Perouse Bay, it’s on to your second site for Makena snorkeling!

Makena snorkeling is amazing, because the site is frequented by Hawaiian green sea turtles (honu), which makes these endangered, air-breathing swimmers easy to locate for photo shoots. Remember to respect the turtles’ space; touching a turtle can land you a hefty fine. You’ll love watching these guys glide by! By the way (in case you’re getting hungry just reading about all this activity), while at Makena, you’ll thoroughly enjoy a tasty deli-style lunch including a delicious chocolate chip cookie for dessert.

Once you’ve had your fill of turtle-watching at Makena, you’ll ride back to Kihei Boat Harbor, and you’ll say goodbye to your incredible captain and crew. Blue Water Rafting’s Kanaio Coast Snorkeling Tour is an amazing experience in south Maui’s waters. Come aboard and ride the raft today!
