Description

Sunday Molokini Crater Snorkel Tour aboard Malolo.

Snorkeling Molokini Crater is on your vacation to-do list, right? Well, we’ve got a Sunday morning trip for you and your family on the Malolo! Getting on the water in the early morning is really great, as Maui’s winds tend to pick up throughout the day.  The ocean is generally calm in the morning. If it is whale season (December – April), you are sure to see humpback whales on the boat ride out!

Molokini Crater is a beautiful volcanic crater rising up out of the water 3 miles off the southwest coast of Maui. There are plenty of fish living in the reef there, because it is a marine life preserve. Birds can also be plentiful, because it’s a bird preserve, as well! Snorkeling the reef is an amazing experience, and you will see all kinds of colorful fish. The fish are more active in the morning and just before sunset, so you’ll be getting in the water at a great time!

On your way out to the Molokini crater, you’ll enjoy an onboard continental breakfast while you explore the double deck catamaran (or simply sit and watch the water go by . . . it’s your vacation, after all!). There are bathrooms aboard the boat. The experienced captain and crew will have all the snorkeling equipment you’ll need, including prescription masks and comfortable flotation devices. If you are a beginning or first time snorkeler, no worries! The Malolo crew will explain things to you before you get in the water to greet the fish.

Once you’ve made some marine memories and climbed back aboard the boat, you’ll find a deli lunch buffet waiting for you! After lunch, it will be time to cruise back to the island of Maui. Not a bad day, huh?

Bring your towels, sunscreen, and camera, and check in at 6:30am at Maalaea Harbor. Parking is plentiful and low cost. You’ll be back around noon, and you’ll have the chance to be in the water for about two hours. If visibility is not good at Molokini, the captain will choose another amazing Maui snorkeling site for you to enjoy.

Have a great time!
