#1 Wailea Luau, The Honua’ula Luau at the Grand Wailea!
Along the southern coastline of Maui lies one of the islands finest luaus, The Grand Luau at Honua’ula. Named for this specific area of Maui and located on the property of the impeccable Grand Wailea resort, this show has been repeatedly selected as the top Wailea luau. Arrive to the lavish property and enjoy complimentary valet parking hosted by the resort. Make your way to the waterfront lawn, where you will check in for the evening and receive your table assignment in Standard or Premium sections. With your parties seating assignments confirmed, you are now welcome to discover the exquisite resort grounds or visit the golden beach.
Return to your table when the luau opens at 5pm and be greeted in the traditional Hawaiian way, with a lei of aloha. Enjoy a beverage from the open bar including beer, red and white wine, standard cocktails and tropical blended drinks, juices and sodas. Peruse the luau grounds and craft booths, appreciate the incredible view, play Hawaiian lawn games, learn to hula and take photos with the costumed dancers.
Learn about how your Kalua pork meal is prepared, in an under oven called an Imu. Watch the pig be unearthed and presented in this age-old ceremony. Shortly thereafter the buffet opens with a wonderful selection of traditional Polynesian fare.
Appetizers include Hawaiian specialties such as poke, lomi lomi salmon, poi, green papaya salad, cucumber namasu, fresh fruit and salad. Enjoy mouthwatering entrée options of Maui Cattle teriyaki steaks, macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi, shoyu (soy sauce glazed) chicken and of course the infamous Kalua Pig.
The Wailea luau also showcases island style sides, which include purple Molokai sweet potatoes, wok veggies, fried rice, chow fun and Hawaiian sweet rolls. Treat yourself to the dessert bar featuring macadamia nut brownies, coconut or pineapple cake, guava mousse and coconut custard known as haupia.
With thirst quenched and hunger quieted, sit back and unwind as your entertainment for the evening begins as the sun goes down. The Wailea luau stage is set as the performers prepare to take you on a theatrical journey and introduce you to Hawaiian folklore and legends.
Polynesian stories tell of the spirits and forces present in natural phenomena. Meet the iconic Pele, the goddess of fire and molten lava. Recount the tales of Kananaka, a famous mermaid of Lahaina, a temptress and lure for surfers and watermen alike. Marvel at the theatrics and mythology of the cloud goddess and goddess of the mist. Be delighted by the aerial routine and fire dancers incorporated into the show.
There is no better way to spend your South side evening than taking in dinner and a show at this remarkable Wailea luau.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, and thought the entertainment was good. On the latter, not too long. Overall, I found the Luau a good value.

A. Vella – :
Good show. Fire guy is highlight. Good food except the steak. Service was good. Would be nice if you could go in ahead of 5 pm just to be able to sit rather than wait in line or walk around til 5 after checking in.
Brenda Lee C. – :
Absolutely wonderful
Shannon Y. – :
An enjoyable evening was had by all! The shell Lei was not as nice as the fresh flower leis provided at comparable luau’s and the employee going around selling fresh flower leis was tacky for the venue it was being held at. The meal was tasty and the serving staff were excellent! The entertainment was very enjoyable.
