Blue Water Rafting offers a quick trip to Molokini with the Molokini Express
There are many ways to get to Molokini Crater for an hour of fantastic snorkeling, but if you choose the fun of going with Blue Water Rafting, you’ll get there in less than 15 minutes! Their fast, inflatable, rigid hulled, and stable rafts powered by environmentally friendly motors are extremely fun to ride (and not recommended for pregnant women, frail elderly, or anyone with back or neck issues). The space on your raft is limited to 24 passengers, and about 60% of it is covered in shade.
Blue Water Rafting really knows what they’re doing when they take you to Molokini. First of all, they leave from the Kihei Boat Ramp at Kamaole Beach Park III, which is one of the closest “jumping off points” to Molokini. Secondly, they get you to Molokini just as most of the other boats are leaving, so you’ll essentially have the place to yourselves for awhile. All the snorkel space suddenly made available will allow you to drift snorkel the outer rim of the crater as well as potentially explore the back side of Molokini! (I say potentially, as any and all snorkeling depends on the ocean conditions of the moment, and Blue Water Rafting wants you to be safe and happy while you make your magnificent marine memories.)
Molokini is a gorgeous marine preserve created by an extinct volcanic crater that rose from the ocean floor long ago and still sticks out above the surface. A coral reef has formed within the crater, and that dynamic habitat is what has attracted all the colorful fish you’ll be seeing! Keep an eye out for spotted eagle rays, eels, octopi, and docile reef sharks while you watch the beautiful fish swim. By the way, beverages are included on this trip with Blue Water Rafting, but no alcohol is allowed.
Once you’re finished snorkeling, you’ll climb the ladder back onto the raft and race back to Maui again! Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? Adventure, ho!
