Maui whale watching aboard Malolo.
Please call or chat with us to book or for more information!
Maui whale watching is most thrilling aboard the Malolo! This high speed catamaran leaves from Maalaea Harbor and can get you to the whales quickly.
The humpback whales return to Hawaii for a few months every year to mate and give birth, so Malolo takes you out to see them from December 8th – April 15th. These animals are spectacular! Just the fact that they exist at all, and they are so much bigger than anything you usually encounter is an amazing thing. (You’ll know what I mean once you see one.)
Depending on what the whales’ agenda is during your two hour Maui whale watching trip, you may see any number of behaviors. Keep your eyes peeled for whales slapping any number of body parts on the surface: their pectoral fins (their very long side fins), their flukes (the huge tail), and their peduncle (the strong muscular section attaching the tail to the rest of the body) are the most common. And keep your fingers crossed for a breach—when a whale rises out of the water completely and crashes down again!
While you are searching for and finding humpback whales, the captain and crew will tell you all about these magnificent mammals. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. The crew will do their best to answer! Drinks of all kinds are available for purchase, and for your comfort and convenience, there are restrooms onboard.
Make sure to bring your camera for your two hour whale watching trip aboard the Malolo, and check in at Maalaea Harbor. Parking at the harbor is free. Whale sightings are guaranteed, or you can go again for free! Speaking of free, each child is free with two paying adults. Awesome!
We (and the whales) will see you there. Aloha for now!
