Maui snorkeling is awesome at Molokini and Turtle Town.

Choosing your Maui snorkeling boat should be a fun decision, and a boat tour on the Quicksilver is one of the most fun! The high-speed double-decker catamaran will race you to two snorkel sites: Molokini Crater and Turtle Town, and you will have plenty of opportunities to make some great Maui marine memories: you will have about one and a half hours of snorkeling time at each site.
Your boat leaves from Maalaea Harbor, and as you come aboard in the morning, you’ll meet your friendly crew and take a look at the continental breakfast laid out. After you are settled in, it’s off to Molokini, the most iconic Maui snorkeling destination! While you are checking out the boat and getting used to the feel of the ocean wind in your hair, from December through April, be sure to keep an eye out for the magnificent humpback whales!
Molokini Crater rises from the ocean floor between the islands of Maui and Kahoolawe. This amazing site is not only home to several fish species, but many species of birds, as well! The crater is a bird preserve and Marine Life Conservation District, so it’s a no-fishing/no-climbing zone, but wearing flippers and a mask to watch the fish is perfectly fine (actually, it’s incredible!).
This underwater bowl shelters a huge reef where the visibility can be over 100 feet! All colors of fish will cruise by as you float above. While you are exploring at Molokini, there is a chance you’ll see spotted eagle rays, eels, and jacks. Even if you have never snorkeled before, or you are not a strong swimmer, you may still snorkel with the Quicksilver: the crew will make sure you are instructed in the use of their snorkel equipment, and they have many types of comfortable flotation devices available as well as prescription masks.
If you don’t care to snorkel, Quicksilver has a glass bottom in one section of the boat, so you can watch your friends watch the fish. And if you just want to swim about, the boat also has a water slide! Delightful!
After snorkeling, Quicksilver will also take you to Turtle Town—a second awesome Maui snorkeling spot. Off the south side of Maui, Turtle Town is home to several of the gentle sea turtles as well as a ton of amazing reef fish. A barbeque lunch with vegetarian options will be served at this time, and water, sodas, and juice are available all day long. You can also buy beer and mai tais while aboard, but please drink only after your time in the water.
Your last stop is La Perouse Bay for sightseeing, where Hawaiian spinner dolphins often swim, and where the first European to set foot on Maui landed in 1789. French Admiral Jean Francis Gallup Comte de La Perouse was only in town for two days, and it is likely you are luckier than he, especially if one of your days is being spent on the Quicksilver!
All snorkel spots are visited weather permitting. If Molokini snorkeling conditions are less than ideal, Coral Gardens off the west side of Maui is usually the Captain’s next choice. Book a Quicksilver tour for you and your family today, and have fun!
Cash bar is available: $2.00 for Beer or Mai Tais after snorkeling.
