Trilogy Excursions Lanai All Day Adventure!
We know you’re enjoying your time on Maui, so why not take a day to explore the island of Lanai? Trilogy Excursions Lanai is your best choice, because they are the only company allowed to take you snorkeling in the Hulopo’e Marine Preserve. Once you get there, you’ll feel incredibly lucky: in this protected area, a radiant white sand beach slopes down to a beautiful bay sheltering a healthy, vibrant coral reef. Trilogy’s swift sailing boat and exceptional crew will take you to Lanai in comfort.
Mid-morning, you’ll be greeted warmly by your friendly captain and crew at Lahaina Harbor and get ready to depart (ie find a spot you like on the boat and sit down). A delicious breakfast is served on your voyage, including special-recipe cinnamon rolls, fruit, and juice. Only 50 passengers are allowed on Trilogy Excursions Lanai, so there is plenty of room to kick back on the comfy seats and enjoy the views of Maui, Lanai, and Molokai as you glide across the Auau Channel. There is plenty of shade on board, as well as bathrooms and freshwater showers for your convenience.
Once you reach Lanai, you will disembark on the island tempted with an exciting array of choices. You can snorkel or SNUBA in the marine preserve, play volleyball on the beach, sunbathe, or take a guided cultural tour of the island by van! How to choose? Well, you don’t necessarily have to: you can do it all! The cultural tour is given by a knowledgeable island-born guide, and the group travels by air-conditioned van. You’ll learn about the history of Lanai, and you’ll visit a plantation!
The fish inhabiting the coral reef in this area are incredibly beautiful, and you just have to see them! Swimming around you in all possible colors (and some you never thought possible), the parrotfish (uhu), ornate butterflyfish (kikakapu), damselfishes, triggerfish (humuhumunukunukuapua’a), and so many more will astound you! You can upgrade to SNUBA, if you wish, and breathe air from a tank that is sitting on a raft on the surface, so you can stay underwater for quite a while.
You can also take a snorkeling coral reef tour with a Trilogy naturalist, and crew members will provide all the snorkeling equipment you need, as well as any instruction you might require. Masks with prescription lenses are on hand, and flotation devices are required. The captain, crew, and beach boys of Trilogy Excursions Lanai have a focus on fun and safety; all of them are CPR certified.
At the end of the day, everyone will eat dinner in a gazebo overlooking Manele Bay. It’s gorgeous there, and the food is exceptional. Some say the Trilogy Excursions Lanai dinner is the best they’ve eaten on their vacation, and that’s saying something! Trilogy cooks up BBQ chicken, stir fry noodles, a salad with amazing dressing, rolls, pineapple, and more! If you are vegetarian or gluten free, your diet will be happily accommodated; just let them know when you book.
After dinner, you’ll head back to the boat to head back to Maui. You’ll be full of sunlight, tropical fish sightings, yummy food, and extra happiness. Those guests 21 and over are welcome to two alcoholic drinks, and everyone will have dessert—local ice cream! You will return to Lahaina Harbor in the evening, knowing that you not only did you spend your day well; you spent your money well, too! Some of the proceeds from your ticket are used for reef clean-ups, Maui County day-use mooring maintenance, and disentanglement of humpback whales from marine debris. Trilogy is awesome.
I’d say it’s time to book tickets. Wouldn’t you?
