Old Lahaina Luau
Located on the north end of historic Front Street, step back in time to an ancient Hawaiian village with thatched roof huts, tiki torches and oceanfront harbor views. This scenic location is the site of the world renowned Old Lahaina Luau.
Adjacent to the Lahaina Cannery Mall, parking is a breeze for the Old Lahaina Luau. Check in begins nightly an hour before sunset on their oceanfront luau pavilion. Be greeted by your island hostess and ushered to your table by one of the hula dancers. When making your reservation, be sure to inquire about the unique seating options available to your party. The round grass mound stage is the center of the luau grounds, with a two level semi-circle seating arrangement. The lower level next to the stage is Traditional Seating on lauhala fiber mats and low tables. The second level offers tables and chairs, and although further from the stage, you are positioned at a higher level for optimal viewing. In either seating style, you are set with other guests to enjoy the evening with as friends. After all, a luau is a time for celebration! Make sure to stop by the oceanfront to have your sunset photos taken, enjoy the luau grounds and various cultural demonstrations. Once seated, your gracious Old Lahaina Luau server presents you with a specialty drink menu and discusses the evening’s selections. Before you know it, buffet has been opened and your table is called. Prepare for a traditional Hawaiian spread! Enjoy the flavors of the Kalua pork that has been roasted in the beachside Imu (underground oven). Unwrap a fresh laulau; pork that has been wrapped in taro leaf and steamed. In addition to pork, main entrees also include fresh fish, grilled beef, guava marinated chicken as well as sweet potatoes and stirfry vegetables. Make sure to save room on your plate for the local favorites such as LomiLomi salmon, Ahi (yellowfin tuna) Poke, He’e (octopus) Poke, Pohole fern salad, taro leaf stew and poi. Satisfy your sweet tooth with fresh island fruit, passion fruit cake, lavender lemon shortbread cookies, haupia (coconut custuard) and Hawaiian chocolate chili pepper brownies.
Full belly, thirst quenched, and sun set. Watch the Old Lahaina Luau dancers as they chant, sing and hula their way into your heart. A history lesson disguised, learn the tradition of the authentic Hawaiian hula, a dance where the hands tell the story. Soak in the rich culture, as the gentle palm trees sway in the warm ocean breeze-this is Maui at it’s finest.
